Patec at Nemezink: 7 Days to Learn Tattooing

Kuba Patecki, better known as Patec from the Friz Team, recently set himself a new challenge – to learn how to tattoo in just one week! Impossible? Not quite! To bring this idea to life, he chose our studio, Nemezink, located in Kraków. Curious to know how the adventure unfolded?

Jak Patec trafił do Nemezink?

The story began with Patec’s friendship with the studio’s owner, Michał. The two knew each other from chess tournaments (they even squeezed in a game during one of Patec’s visits to Nemezink), and from a casual conversation… the idea for a new challenge was born! He set the bar high – deciding to become a tattoo artist and giving himself ONLY 7 DAYS to learn the craft! After a brief chat, we enthusiastically invited him to the studio, where he met Natalia Popiół, our lead tattoo artist and co-owner of Nemezink. Thanks to that meeting, Patec officially became an apprentice and entered the world of tattooing with our team.

Who Taught Patec How to Tattoo?

Under Natalia’s watchful eye, Patec learned the basics of using a tattoo machine – she showed him how to hold it correctly, how to prepare the skin, and how to adjust the needle settings. This learning process took place both at the studio and at Kuba’s home, where he could quietly hone his technique on his own (just him, the machine, and synthetic skin!). Throughout this wild week, all of our artists at Nemezink not only cheered Patec on but also happily shared their own experience and tips!

You Don’t Have to Be Good at Something to Enjoy It!

It turned out that tattooing isn’t as easy as it seems. Patec admitted that the hardest part was keeping his hand perfectly steady. The machine often shook during his early attempts – especially when practising longer, geometric designs and shading. Then there was mastering the technique – adjusting speed and needle depth

Smoothly working with a design on properly stretched skin takes both patience and precision. But Patec didn’t hold back – his first attempt was on his own leg! Sketching designs turned out to be another surprise! He had to revisit the basics of drawing to prepare tattoo designs for his friends, whom he would ink on the seventh day of his training! Thanks to Natalia’s patience and the support of the whole Nemezink crew, he got better and better with each passing day.

Patec’s First Tattoos – Who Did He Tattoo?

Patec’s first “model” was Piotr “Nowciax” Nowak – a friend from the Friz Team. Kuba tattooed a symbolic Relab logo, incorporated into a fish skeleton, on his skin. Right up until the end, Piotr didn’t know what his mate was tattooing on him… but the final result pleasantly surprised him! Patec’s other friends shared the same opinion. The whole adventure proved that even after just one week of intensive learning, you can produce some pretty decent tattoos!

If Patec’s video reminded you that it’s been a while since your last tattoo session… we invite you to visit Nemezink! Our artists will be more than happy to design something personal just for you!
